At today’ s event Google launched another handy thing to have; the Google Chromecast. Chromecast is basically a 2 inch HDMI dongle and priced to sell at $35 a piece. It’s running a stripped down version of Chrome OS. Chromecast sticks into the HDMI port on your television and then you can stream content like Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Music, or open Chrome tabs on your HDTV with the press of a button on your device.

Add to that you need not have an Android device for streaming content, Chromecast is compatible with below operating systems:-

  • Android 2.3 and higher
  • iOS 6 and higher
  • Windows 7 and higher
  • Mac OS 10.7 and higher
