Verizon to certify Nexus 7 LTE on its network after Android 4.4 update

Nexus7_Right

If you are not aware, Verizon has not been allowing  customers to activate Nexus 7 LTE on its network from past few months. Verizon has now released a statement on Nexus 7 (2013) LTE certification with their network.

Verizon says they encountered a system issue while certifying Nexus 7 LTE for usage on its network. They escalated the issue to Asus and Google and were asked to wait to until the roll-out of Android 4.4 KikKat to Nexus 7 instead of doing re-certification on Android 4.3 JellyBean.

Here is the official statement from Verizon on the Nexus 7 certification.

During the certification process for the Nexus 7, Google, Asus and Verizon uncovered a systems issue that required Google and Asus to undertake additional work with the Jelly Bean OS running on the device.  Since Google was about to launch its new Kit Kat OS, rather than undertake this work, Google and Asus asked Verizon to suspend its certification process until Google’s new OS was available on the Nexus 7.

So if you are waiting to use Nexus 7 LTE on Verizon,  you need to wait for some more time until Android 4.4 KitKet gets certified successfully.
