Verizon Ellipsis 7 Tablet Confirmed

EllipsisVerizon unveiled its own budget tablet marked the Ellipsis 7. What was just a leak and rumor last week has been confirmed today. It will be a budget device built for Verizon by an unknown manufacturer at this point. It looks as though the tablet is going to go head to head with other like priced devices (Kindle Fire HDX and Nexus 7) especially with its integrated 4G LTE.

The Ellipsis 7 is an exclusive to Verizon. In typical Verizon style, there are going to be some preloaded apps. The confirmed list of apps are the Amazon Kindle app, Redbox Instant, Plants vs. Zombies (sounds like 1 and not 2), and Verizon Messages. The tablet has a 7-inch HD panel, but no specifics were given with regards to resolution. It has the typical front facing camera. Other than that, no more specifications were given.

One note of interest, in the press release, Verizon states that this is the first product in the Ellipsis family alluding that more tablets and maybe even smartphones could be released under the Ellipsis name (Could that be the start of the death of the “Droid” brand?).

It will be available on November 7th online and in Verizon Wireless stores for an unexciting $249.99, but if you act fast, you can get $100 off when you sign up for a 2-year contract! Seeing as how no specs were actually given other than the 7″ HD display, I would wait till you get a full list before even thinking of pulling the trigger on this one.
