The Sony Xperia Z1 has been rooted thanks to a Chinese root tool called 360 root. We know that the device is yet to be launched in the States but peeps over in China have already got there hands full of the Xperia Z1 and rooted it.
Even though the tool is in Chinese xda member krabappel2548 has written a guide which is very easy to follow.
