Yesterday, Samsung officially announced Galaxy S4 Active, the rugged version of its flagship phone Galaxy S4. It’s announced with tagline “The Perfect Companion for Exploration, Activity and Adventure”
Galaxy S4 Active is dust and water resistant. “It can stay in fresh water at a depth of one meter for up to 20 minutes”
In words of Samsung CEO JK Shin -
“The GALAXY S4 Active is the newest addition to the GALAXY series and is purposefully designed for active users who love the outdoors. Samsung has taken the innovative features of the GALAXY S4 and added breakthrough protective design elements to create a device that thrives in an active environment and is built for a lifestyle of travel and exploration”
Other core specs include a 5-inch Full HD TFT LCD screen (443 PPI) with ‘Glove Touch’ technology, 1.9 GHz Quad-Core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable up to 64GB via microSD card, 8MP camera on the back, 2MP front-facing camera, 2,600 mAh battery and run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
It will be offered in three different color options: Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare and will be available for purchase beginning this summer, with initial retail in the U.S. and Sweden. Pricing and availability in other markets is not yet announced.
These rugged versions really look better compared to original Galaxy S4 along with addition of some extra features. So what color variant are you picking up?
