Gmail v4.5 with swipe down to refresh is rolling out for Android users as we speak; swipe down to refresh is one feature which I always wanted Gmail for Android to have. Most apps out there like twitter, facebook etc have the swipe down to refresh feature and I always missed this feature in Gmail app for Android.
The other features added are addition of categories and slide out navigation.
